We are very proud to bring you our collection of handwoven 100% wool Zapotec rugs from the central valley of Oaxaca, Mexico. Our rugs are hand loomed using traditional pedal looming techniques that've been passed down through many generations. The rugs are reversible so the design appears the same on both sides. There's no wrong way to hang these and you can face any desired side down when using them as a rug.
Each rug from start to finish is made in a fair trade environment by a master weaver. The rug making process depending on size can take one to several weeks to make. This is a delicate process which takes perfection and skill.
All rugs are made from natural woollen fibres that are hand dyed using an ancient vegetable dye technique. Due to the handmade nature, the rugs may have slight variations and imperfect perfections. The Zapotec rugs are something you'll have for many years to come.
